Why Join the VicRoads Association?

The primary purpose of the Association is to foster fellowship among members and maintain friendships from work days with an opportunity to socialize, meet new people (often colleagues from other areas who were known only by name) and have some fun.

Membership is open to ex-employees (staff or field) from VicRoads, Country Roads Board, Motor Registration Branch, Transport Regulation Board, Traffic Commission, Road Safety & Traffic Authority, Road Construction Authority, Road Traffic Authority and those in the Roads component of various State Departments and Ministries.

The Association, which started in November 1978, now has just over 300 members.

The Association offers the following services to members and their partners:

  • Briefings and visits to major transport projects in Melbourne and Regional Victoria
  • An annual visit (usually over 3 days) to one or more of Victoria’s Regional cities, offering the opportunity to renew friendships with ex-Regional colleagues and visit infrastructure projects
  • Lunches at Shoppingtown hotel in Doncaster (7 a year) and dinners at Waverley RSL (2 a year)
  • An annual golf day
  • A Christmas lunch at Waverley RSL
  • Regular Newsletters (around 10 a year) keeping everyone abreast of happenings among our members
  • A website vicroadsassociation.org.au with news and photographs of activities of our members

We have a Committee elected at the AGM to manage the activities of the Association.

We are always keen to attract new members- and it’s only a one-time payment of $50 to join.

If you would like to get in contact with old friends and join in our activities, become a member of the VicRoads Association by filling in the following form and paying a once only $50 joining fee: VicRoads Association Membership Application Form 2024
