Bill Saggers advised that the missing initial in the photo 4th from the top is H for Harold (Matthyz). Harold was a draughtsman in Plans & Surveys, was a wicketkeeper at the Melbourne Cricket Club and later at the Ringwood Cricket Club, where he may have been captain.

The Collapse of Melbourne’s King Street Bridge
Here is an interesting YouTube video about the collapse of the Kings St Bridge in 1962. A Royal Commission Hearing found that many factors contributed to the collapse. Following the Royal Commission Roy Gilmour was appointed in Materials as the CRB’s first metallurgist.
