Road Traffic Authority
The Road Traffic Authority (RTA) was created on 1 July 1983 by the Transport Act 1983. The Act abolished the Road Safety and Traffic Authority, Country Roads Board and the Transport Regulation Board. The RTA was superceded by VicRoads in 1989.
